Richardson's Rock Ranch

shop Richardson's Rock Ranch is a family-owned and operated enterprise, providing family recreation. The ranch is a working cattle ranch, suplimented by recreational activities. Highlighting the ranch are the world famous agate beds, featuring thundereggs and ledge agate material. Rocks from all over the world can be found at our rock shop. Our goal is to provide "Fun for Everyone" -- rockhounding, photography, and camping.

We are located approximately 11 miles north of Madras, Oregon, just a few miles east of Highway 97. Please see the directions area for more information on how to locate the ranch.

We now own and operate the famous Priday thunderegg beds and our modern rock shop has lots of other good Oregon materials. We have more variety of material than any other place in Central Oregon. Our selection includes: thundereggs, moss agate, jasper, jasp-agate, Oregon sunset, and rainbow agate... just to name a few!

spheres All of our dig locations are accessible by road. For those who prefer, we have materials available at the office. Digging is available, weather permitting. The thunderegg beds are worked regularly to always provide the finest digging. We provide free use of rock picks for the day. Ledge agate material is a favorite for many and is a ranch specialty. Chisels, wedges, and hard rock mining tools are necessary, and are available for purchase at the shop.

Rough and finished products may be purchased from our shop. We produce Richardson's high-speed sanders and buffers. Other major brands of lapidary machinery and supplies are available at our shop as well. We provide a free campground area (no hookups) with free showers at the shop for the convenience of our customers.
